Eligibility & Requirements

Candidates who satisfy the following conditions are eligible to seek provisional registration for Ph.D

  1. Those who possess a Master’s Degree in the subject concerned or a similar degree in any other subject of the University of Mysore or any other degree / diploma recognized as equivalent  there to with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade; relaxable to 50% in the case of:
    1. SC/ST candidates
    2. Regular researchers of affiliated / constituent colleges of University of Mysore with a minimum of three years of experience and
    3. Candidates from Industrial / Research Institutions with a minimum of three years of experience                                                                                                                    
  2. The candidates should be working in or have access to facilities for research in the Department of Studies concerned in the University or in an Institution recognized by the University for the purpose of research                                                                                       
  3. Any candidate who has registered for Ph.D. cannot pursue another degree program in or outside this University. If found guilty, the registration of the candidate will be canceled.     
  4. Research scholars who reside / work outside the University areas are treated as external candidates. All such candidates shall submit their applications for registration through an Institution recognized by the University for the purpose of research.
