The industrial age has metamorphosed into the information age, leaving in its wake hundreds of students from the traditional schools of learning at a loose end. This is primarily because of a failure of institutions to integrate the tools of the information age into their curriculum. Today a knowledge worker without a working knowledge of computers and their applications is an anachronism. Indo-American recognized the need for an integrated approach to teaching conventional courses and in 2001 courses offering computer education as an integral part of the curriculum were designed. Realizing that hands-on training was the keystone of this initiative, a six-month module that provided live project training has been  incorporated into the curriculum.

In keeping with the overall principles of the Indo-American Group, the Presidency Degree College provides education that incorporates appreciation for culture, social consciousness, patriotism and moral values. The college also helps develop the mental and physical capabilities of the students through yoga, brain-storming exercises, seminars, and group-discussions and activities, talents labs and sports.

Offering B.Sc and B.Com courses that cover the prescribed syllabus of the Andhra University, the college curriculum includes computer applications as a mandatory subject. Two live projects on software development distinguishes these courses from other B.Sc. and B. Com. programs. The courses also includes six months of job training that awards an experience certificate.

As an option students are encouraged to study for professional certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, Novell and Sun Microsystems.

Adjunct courses offered are communication skills and personality development. The college encourages students to take multiple optional courses.

Students are provided career counseling and placement assistance. The college has a higher education guidance cell that provides expert assistance to students desirous of higher studies both in India and abroad.
