Andhra University- a perspective

Formally inaugurated in 1926 by Lord Goschen, the first Chancellor, Andhra University has a rich and interesting history. People of eminence including Sri S. RadhaKrishnan, Sri C.V. Raman and Dr. C. R. Reddy have walked the portals of the University.

The University comprises of four campus colleges, over 55 full-fledged faculties teaching and array of Bachelors and Masters programs both in the regular and distance education mode and catering to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. The University boasts of one of the best departments of Nuclear Physics and many eminent scientists are alumni of this department.

Incidentally, Andhra University is the first residential-cum-affiliating university devoted mainly to PG courses and research.
